Joint venture is a company that is established by multiple parties, usually with the aim of reaching new markets and increasing available assets. For example, there are two real estate investors, but neither of them has enough funds to invest in a certain property which could potentially be very profitable. They form a joint venture and now together have enough funds for such an investment, but they now also have to split the profits.
