Accession is a way of acquiring property, stipulating that, if a new entity or materials are added to the property, they automatically belong to the owner of the property. For example, if a person owns a piece of land besides a river, and in time the river recedes and a new piece of land is formed adjacent to that property, then this land automatically belongs to that person.
