Apartment category: Brezhnev type
Brezhnev type is one of the apartment complex types built in Latvia, i.e a category of Latvian residential property. It has been built starting from 1960 and up until 1970. In the capital city of Riga it is mostly found in the neighbourhoods of Ķengarags, Purvciems, Āgenskalns, Teika and Jugla. It is typically built from bricks.
Residential complexes of this type typically have 5 floors. The height of each floor is 2.5m. Brezhnev type buildings can have regular balconies or recessed balconies (i.e. loggias), depending on the particular building. As for additional infrastructure, they do not have elevators, and do not have garbage chutes.
