2302. Power plant constructions
2302. Power plant constructions is a type of real estate according to the Classification of Types of Constructions developed by the United Nation and adopted by the European Union, particularly Eurostat. It is a Level 4 category that is a subset of the ‘230. Complex constructions on industrial sites’ class of constructions.
Power plant constructions include the following kinds of real estate:
- hydraulic or thermal power stations and equipment for generating electricity, e.g. coal fired power stations, nuclear power stations, wind-driven power stations
It also includes:
- plants for treating and processing nuclear material
- waste incinerators
It does not include:
- dams
- electricity lines, including transformer stations and substations
Most of the real property in this category is constructions, but not buildings. According to the EU Classification, constructions are structures connected with the ground which are made of construction materials and components and/or for which construction work is carried out. In this respect, the preparation of soil, planting or sowing etc. for agricultural purposes are not regarded as constructions.
